Our research work focuses on investigating technology based solutions for improving community education on maternal and child health in rural India. We have designed, developed, and evaluated mobile-based applications for providing supplementary training platforms for community health workers and educating women on topics such as breast-feeding and post-natal care.
The corresponding field testing and deployments are conducted with collaboration of Non-profit and government organizations in north-India.
Till now, our focus areas has been under-resource settings and therefore have worked on developing low-cost and contextualized designs using technologies such as IVR and android-applications. In recent times, we have also started investigating the use of conversational agents and trying to understand its potential in breastfeeding education in the light of limited experts and counselling support.
